Sam Parker Shares the Bare Truth of His Life & Experiences


Australian Wrestling icon and veteran of eleven Olympics Games Sam Parker shares his story in the autobiography, Sam Parker: the highs and lows. The memories, trials, wins, losses and connections made over seventy years of involvement in Australian Wrestling Parker's book recalls his early days, tough childhood upbringing in the working-class suburb of Yarraville in the 30s & 40s, relationship with his war-hero father, becoming an Olympian and later coach. It is a life of many memories and defining moments. Parker reveals his growth in understanding and development as a coach and human being with great storytelling and emotional insight. The title of “Yarraville larrikin" will forever remain his, amongst his many notable achievements. A rough and ready character, Parker has significantly contributed to shaping the history and nature of the sport for Australia on an Olympic level.
